Internships

Each spring, summer, and fall Glimpse offers multiple editorial, photo, and marketing internships for current college students or recent graduates. Internships are unpaid; we encourage interns to receive academic credit when possible.

Internship Schedules

  • Spring Internships: January – May
  • Summer Internships: June – August
  • Fall Internships: September – December

We are no longer accepting internship applications for the spring or summer. Please check back in July for application instructions for our fall internships. An overview of our internship positions follows:

Editorial Interns

Glimpse Editorial Interns are a critical part of our staff. They work with the Editor in Chief and Managing Editor to select, edit, and publish feature stories and other content, and to help manage our rapidly growing website. Glimpse allows its interns to work directly with authors and asks them to be heavily involved in creative and editorial processes. This is a fun, challenging, and hands-on internship. There is no paper filing or coffee fetching involved.

Responsibilities:

  • Select, edit, proofread, and publish feature stories and tips
  • Research and fact-check as needed
  • Assist with the evaluation of Correspondents Program applicants
  • Create and/or contribute to staff-written pieces
  • Provide creative input on website strategies and initiatives

The successful candidate will be a recent college graduate, or a college student working toward a bachelor's degree in his/her junior or senior year. Candidates with editorial or teaching experience and a background in English, creative writing, or journalism are strongly preferred. The intern should also have an interest in storytelling, cross-cultural issues, and life abroad. Prior study abroad experience is a plus. This is an unpaid internship; if you're a student, we prefer that you receive academic credit, but it is not required. Glimpse is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

To apply, email a statement of interest to internships@glimpse.org. Please remember to indicate which position you're applying for. Attach a resume and a 5-10 page creative nonfiction writing sample.
