Oh. It’s BIG! So big my jaw dropped! The only building in the world BIGGER than the Palace of the Parliament in Bucharest, Romania is the Pentagon in Washington DC. But with 1,100 rooms, one million cubic meters of marble, and countless gold, silver, and crystal adornments, it still takes the cake as the most expensive administrative building, and heaviest building, in the world. Tours of the Palace are a must if in Bucharest! Students get in free and English tours depart hourly, but remember that passports are required to enter. Not only is the extravagant detailing beautiful, but the building serves as an important, but harsh, historical symbol of Communist Romania under Nicolae Ceausescu.
